Not too long ago, blogging was an unknown verb and until the creation of web logs, online diaries where people share their most intimate and private thoughts with the entire world, a blog sounded like a made-up word. Today it has been transformed from an online book to hold your thoughts into a big business.
The goal of your blog should be defined before you start, to determine the reason you want to do this. If your goal is simply to supply information or make personal contacts, then you are probably in a good position to place an ad on your blog. However, when you use ad programs such as Google’s AdSense, the ads being posted will match the content of your blog and if it is a business blog, may be in direct competition with your business.
Depending on your writing skills, there have been individuals who have been asked to write material for other blogs. A few have even made enough money to make it their full time position. However, writing for a blog is similar to writing for any website, in that most of the information should be content-rich to help the site’s search engine optimization.
If you are planning to become a blogger with your own site, then you should start with a topic that you are familiar with. And, if you make mistakes don’t worry, there will be someone more than willing to offer corrections. Additionally, as you become more involved with the topic, it won’t take you long until you are an expert in that niche field.
