It’s the multi-format re-issue for Stones Rolled Gold+ and this ones on USB! A shiny new update of Rolled Gold, the Stones Best of album which was originally released in 1975.
This updated album is a two CD set which includes all that tracks that were part of the original Rolled Gold vinyl LP plus 12 new tracks from the same era, that were not in the 1975 release. Rolled Gold+ is made up of 40 tracks, which include all the biggest hits from the first 10 years of the Rolling Stones recording career.
This new release concentrates on the years 1963-1971, a time when the band were at their most iconic and prolific.
The album follows the band as they evolved from an R n B group, to pop group to rock legends. The track listing runs chronologically and the packaging will include track-by-track breakdowns and extensive liner notes by music journalist and Rolling Stones expert Pierre Perrone, as well as other music industry experts.
Among the albums forty tracks, are the classics:
· ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’.
· ‘Jumpin Jack Flash’.
· ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’ – which was written for the band by John lennon and Sir Paul McCartney.
~ FORMATS ~
Rolled Gold+ will be released in a number of worldwide exclusive formats, which include:
· A deluxe double jukebox pop-up case – which is environmentally friendly case.
· iTunes interactive booklet, which will be available for only one week. This starts October 29, exclusively on iTunes.
· USB memory Stick a UK first for any album.
· Four record 12” vinyl set.
· Super Jewel double CD album.
The Stones' last album, A Bigger Bang, was released in the U.S. on a microSD (flash memory card format for use in portable devices).
~ USB FORMAT ~
The USB format of the album will include added extras not available on the other formats. This will include bonus content, such as live performances and/or videos. To play the music just put the USB stick into a USB slot on you PC or Laptop. The Operating system should then find it and ask you if you want to play the tracks.
~ DISAPPOINTMENT ~
It doesn’t include some early tracks from the Stones, just the one that sold the most. I suppose there’s so many tracks to choose from, that it’s a hard choice to make on which ones to add to this new album.
Is the USB format a gimmick? You can’t really plug the USB stick into your MP3 player or CD player. You’ll have to load them onto your computer and then download them to your MP3 player that way.
