By visualizing the way a massive invasion and occupation might be successfully executed by the most likely enemies in the near future, we can prepare our personal responses. There are several assumptions which should prove valid and some variation probable.

1.) 9/11 was both fair warning and a blueprint for a much larger attack. The invasion will make full use of the element of surprise for the panic and terror response. It will strike several vital targets simultaneously. It was intended to show us how vulnerable we are to attack, but government is still in denial about the reality and acting as if we are no longer vulnerable because they have created democracy in Iraq. Most of us know better as do our enemies

2.) An easily modified master plan of attack already exists or will soon exist, which can be shared with new members of the invasion alliance on an instantaneous basis. U.S. Government will know nothing of its existence. Government will believe such a surprise attack is impossible or unlikely, or will be on a 9/11 scale.

3.) The great vulnerability of the U.S. Government and national economy is the energy supply. Even those energy suppliers not involved directly in the initial invasion, will turn off the supply on signal from the planners. It is entirely possible deployed forces will not have fuel available for a rapid response. All domestic supply and reserves will be earmarked for military use and the national transportation system will quickly come to a standstill. Electricity from all fuels will also be restricted to state and national usage under martial law. If your family is widely scattered at the time of invasion, it will likely remain so for the duration of the war. Most of us will live with only locally available energy supplies. Major gas pipelines will likely be destroyed and electrical substations as well. Nuclear and hydroelectric power generators will be heavily defended. Due to the energy shortage, much of U.S. weapons technology will be grounded. The invaders will likely have fuel supply depots in the Western Hemisphere for resupply.

4 .) Much of the U.S. military defense force will be busy in foreign engagement and unable to defend the homeland. This will fall to what remains of the Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard, prior to the landings of ground forces, likely to be in the millions. Air defense will be sufficient to force invasion via coasts and borders and invaders will fight their way into the interior from several key points of entry.

5.) Expect a limited nuclear attack from vessels at sea, making any nuclear response impractical and unlikely. Nuclear attacks on four to ten large population centers will totally occupy responders for weeks or months, leaving other valuable targets essentially undefended. Washington D.C. represents unfinished business to Al Qaeda. Since it is also headquarters for military planning and response, expect it to be a first strike target with multiple warheads leaving nothing to chance.

6.) If you are living in a coastal port city spared from nuclear attack, expect a strong conventional attack to make way for the invading ground forces not coming across the Southern border. Mexico will become an invasion resupply depot for food and fuel, voluntarily or by force. Otherwise invaders will feed on the move and will empty all stores of consumable products. They will initially meet with very little resistance by armed citizens. The resistance will grow, as in Iraq, from rumors of atrocities against civilians. They will take all arms and ammunition from supply stores wherever they go, so have what you think you will need on hand if you intend to actively resist or join a militia. 9/11 was our first warning to stock up. It may have been the only warning. You will probably want to go beyond plastic sheets and duct tape because the invaders will not allow you to simply wrap them up.

7.) A relatively small U.S. force with the most modern war technology has been tied up in Afghanistan for 5 years with no real progress. A larger force similarly equipped, has been tied up over three and a half years in a relatively small country occupation in Iraq. Expect a large force occupation of the United States to last from five to ten years. Expect it to begin sometime after the Bush presidency which is creating the invasion alliances. Keep your eyes on Iran, which is likely to be the head of the alliances. This puts all of the Russian and Chinese war technology at their disposal so it does not matter if they have their own nukes.

When I wrote The Homestead Revolution, it was with an eye toward energy and food shortages from any number of causes. Washington's vision and current events just recently came together in my mind's eye. Add to this the apocalyptic vision of the Christian right, the behavior of Israel and 9/11 and we do not need a ton of imagination to see what must come to pass. Compare Washington's vision with the Book of Revelation and we see the vision provides specifics we can take to the bank. If you have not yet read or copied The Homestead Revolution, you might find it very valuable in planning your family's future under violent foreign occupation. While a word to the wise is sufficient, the unwise require constant repetition of any new idea. Save a few lives. Point a few friends to the reality of current events and the probable outcomes.
